Job Summary

The Installation Manager plans and manages on-site installations to ensure timely completion, high quality of service, and cost-effective management of dealer labor and installation resources. They function as the installation manager with budget, quality, personnel, technical, customer, and administrative responsibility for each supervised project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Including but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the training and development of lead installers and installers.
  • Responsible for overall performance of lead installers and installers, as well as addressing performance issues when they arise.
  • Plans, organizes, and effectively directs a large crew of installers on small to large projects.
  • Can supervise and project manage large, complex installation projects (100+ workstations, complex reconfigurations, etc.).
  • A leader in knowledge of all current furniture lines sold by Insidesource; ability to understand and lead installation of new lines through analysis and extrapolation.
  • Accountable for overall project success: cost, schedule adherence, punch list, completion, customer satisfaction, etc.
  • Acts as part of the Operation Division management team; assist in developing and implementing Division procedures, work practices, standards of performance, etc.; understands Division economics and cost accounting.
  • Can react to varying project / field conditions and is able to make decisions to resolve problems and changes in the scope of work.
  • Maintains detailed and complete administrative records of installation project work, including timesheets, receiving documentation, change orders, product returns, etc.
  • Communications, and documents in writing, project status and any major problems to dispatch, sales personnel, and project management personnel.
  • Assists with job costing by providing necessary data from the field.
  • Assists with subcontractor performance management by providing necessary data from the field.
  • Strong leader who sets daily performance / result expectations and has the respect of their team.
  • Comfortable and professional interacting with crew, customers, and dealership personnel.
  • Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required

  • Mechanically adept with tools and equipment; excellent at custom applications; finished installations are of high quality.
  • Exhibits a strong ethic and ethical approach to work.
  • Exhibits excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Has a solid understanding of contract furniture scope of work, including account servicing, design and order preparation, order management, factory interface, delivery and installation, and project management.
  • Understands the construction process; can read construction and furniture drawings and blueprints.
  • Can analyze and develop detailed work plans and price quotations for installation projects.
  • Can specify product, using fill project nomenclature; understands correct product applications and use; can do small layouts and reconfigurations without relying on designers or sales staff.
  • Is fully knowledgeable of electricity, electrical hookups to building power, data and voice cabling, basic furniture codes, and other technical installation issues.
  • Valid driver’s license; must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check and DOT medical / physical.
  • If able, can comfortably drive a bobtail or cube truck and can do so safely.
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, Excel
  • Willingness and ability to learn applicable projects (i.e. PlanGrid)
